I'm surprised it took me so long to find this park. I always figured the fact it's right off the CA-57 freeway makes it a poor man's choice for aretreat fromthe hubbub of suburbia, but I waspleasantly surprised. This is a relatively bigpark; the peripheral hiking trail makes for a 3.5 mile trek.Withgreen hills gently roll from end to end, plenty of shade from Alder and Willow trees as well as huge open spaces, a baseball diamond and new sports complex (basketball, volleyball etc), and a 3-acre lake smack in the middle attracting many types of waterfowl, this isa great place to rediscover peace of mind or bring along other people for a fun time in the sun.I went on a weekend, and there were a lot of friendly regulars on the trails. You can avoid the big family gatherings typical of weekends by avoiding the picnic facilities, which is pretty easy to do. The only downfall about the park is that people litternear the streams, and debris trickles down to the lake, making it slightly murky. Poor ducks. All in all, this park goes a long way in providing an unexpected dose of tranquility.
Unswimmable, but great to look at.
