If you are looking for cheap accomadations to access New York City, I would highly recommend the Courtyard Marriott in Tarrytown, NY. Tarrytown is roughly... an hour by train, I believe. The area is quaint and filled with restaurants and shopping.
Tarrytown has a train station as well offerring easy access to NYC. The Courtyard Marriott was very nice for the price. They have new bedding, which is absolutely comfortable and nice toiletries (bath and body orks aromatherapy- the Jasmine collection) are included with the room.
