Courtyard By Marriott Los Angeles Hotel Dec 14, 2008
It was a nice place, but the location was not. The hotel was very far from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and this caused some problems. It all started when I got off the plane. I exited the terminal and headed for the hotel shuttle bus stop. A shuttle arrived shortly and I got on. Unfortunately, it was a shuttle bound for the Courtyard Marriott LAX, which I thought was my hotel. It turns out I was wrong, but the shuttle driver told me the correct shuttle would be along shortly and he dropped me off back at LAX. I waited for 20 minutes, gave up, and hailed a taxi. It cost me $20 dollars to get to the hotel. I found out the next morning that this particular hotel does not have an airport shuttle.
My first impression of the hotel was tainted by this waste of time, but the hotel itself was great. The room was very luxurious, for the price, it had a comfortable bed and access to hundreds of TV channels with Direct TV. The hotel has a pool and a weight room, but I arrived at 11 pm and checked out the following morning, so I did not try them. The staff was very friendly and helpful, but the location of the hotel really hurts the recommendation. Part of the December 2008 in Australia travel blog |
