Poor Nina, she didn't get to sleep well for two night because of ME! On the first night she blames it on me sleeping very very slanted/diagonal on the bed. Well, I was just cold and I didn't know where to find another blanket so I had to squeeze in my cutie legs into her blanket and just used pillows for my tiny arms to keep myself warm. Before I went to bed had at least one Guinness and some nice G&T´s. The last thing I did before I hit the sack was to look at the map that Hertz had given me when I rented the car. Well today I was inspired to go for a walk around my hometown and take a few photos. I drove into University College Cork and parked the car. I have been a student here for the past four years, and my spell here is now coming to an end! UCC is a must-see if you're visiting Cork, and it's also a nice place to sit out and relax on a warm summer's day. The county of Cork is just south of my home-county,Limerick, but we still had a 2 and 1/2 hour drive to were we headed: Youghal. Youghal (pronounced Yawl) is said to have been largely influenced by the vikings. Arriving in the 9th century they used it as a base to raid nearby wealthy monastic sites such as Ardmore, Lismore and Molana. Today was a pretty blah day,has been pretty blustery all day and everyone has prettym uch just bene hanging out inside playing cards,board games and whatever else.I watched a movie with a bunch that i met over the last few days and we had popcorn joked around and ad libbed the movie in each others languages which was interesting to hear but all in fun : ) I got some great advice from several of the people from Poland on what to do there once i hit that spot. I have heard so many beautiful things about Kinsale and it is only about 15 minutes away by bus from where I work.  But for some reason, no matter how many times I have planned to go there, the plans just wouldn't push through. I was not at all ready to get up. I got on the train, though, and here I sit. Time to attempt to get my second half of last night's sleep in. Oh, here comes the trolly lady, just like in Harry Potter. I got off the train in Cork and walked directly to the bus station. I bout a 5.6 euro round trip ticekt to Blarney. I was in the Cork during the jazz festival which happen every Year on the last weekend of October. An unbelievable Atmosphere ruled in the city. One goes the streets along and from everywhere u can hear live music. Indeed, jazz is not played everywhere,in smaller pubs rather more rock . Many people from other parts of Ireland and other countrys come to this time in Cork.It was just great!!! `Cause we were constantly in the celebration , I hadn`t time to shoot more pics from Cork and around :-...

The early start went according to plan. Waking up at 5.30am would give me a chance to get up and go, I know I had to be out the door at 6am. Leaving at 6.05am meant that I had to walk with my rucksack that much quicker to the station, however I purchased my ticket and got onto the platform to catch the 6.20am train to kings cross with 30 seconds to spare. The flight going out  was delayed by what the captain said was a 'minor fault that needed looking into', all very reassuring. ...

Sept. 10, 2007:  Day 6 – True Couchsurfers   Over the night two Couchsurfers had responded to our requests.  So, we had a free place to stay that night!  It was going to be Justin’s first Couchsurfing experience too.
