Cottage Bakery was a wonderful find. I was needing a cup of coffee to start my morning, and this place was perfect. It feels like something from a bygone era -- kind of like a diner with booths and small tables, and filled with locals. When you open the door, the smell of coffee and doughnuts hits you and your mouth starts watering.
It has a great expresso bar, regular coffee and tea, and every imaginable pastry. Doughnuts, bismarcks, maple bars, buttermilk doughnuts, muffins, pies, cakes, brownies and more. They even have a Texas doughnut that is as big as a plate! Cottage Bakery was so good, I went back the next morning too!  Part of the Pacific Northwest Trip 2008 travel blog

Starting the Day in Long Beach
