Great Cheap Place To Stay In Costa Rica Apr 11, 2008
Anyone going to Costa Rica and looking for real cheap spot to rest or collect some plans Costa Rica Backpackers is the place to go. It is a hostel but it is decorated well secure the staff are helpful and the price is great. Last time i went it was like 9 USD for a night in a private room with shared bath. They have all types of rooms of your typical hostel setup. They also have this whiteboard where people in the hostel post their travel plans and invites are usually open to anyone just go knock on the room number they provided. They have pool free internet, free coffee, towel service (with deposit), and connections with most of the tour companies. The only bad part is its kinda out of the way from the center of things. However, if you are just laying over to rest from the flight for the night or just plan to stay only a day or two to get your bearings then its perfect. Especialy if you travel like me with absolutely no plans after landing, you can get swept up into the tide of enthusiastic cool, cool travelers here. And in my experience the ride will be nothing short of grand.

This is the place to be if your staying in San Jose, its very clean, cheap, and has a good atomsphere, plus the staff are helpful. There is a brilliant size kitchen with everything you would need to cook up a dinner, cooking not your thing, well then visit the restaurant where they cook up fresh nachos and other dishes. its only 600colones for a beer, and 500colones for a coca cola. Did i mention that there is a pool!!! and also internet access whenever you want, a decent book exchange, and films everynight in the restaurant, or just lounge in front of the tv!!! If your english and love football, then dont worry they do show matches here!!!! just tune the tv into FOXSPORTS!! i use this hostel as my stay point everytime i am in San Jose..

We decided to head up to where the hostel (Costa Rica Backpackers) I was going to be staying in was situated, to have a look and scope it out, we found it easily, but saw the security and thought it wasn't worth trying to get in. So we headed back to the hotel… Do you know the way to San Jose |

, an hour late, at the Costa Rica Backpackers Hostel. The check-in clerk said the gang had left, but would be back later. Sure enough, it wasn’t long before Derek & Adrian came and picked me up.
We went a few blocks to a neighborhood restaurant/bar. There, I met Kelly… This is My Kind of Shopping |

Arriving in San Jose, I found a taxi and set off back across the city to Costa Rica Backpackers. Sure the taxi driver had over charged me, 4000 colones, but glad to finally be able to relax again I checked into the hostel and set about exploring the hostel which I'd read was a maze. Indeed it was fairly big, but it was great… CRASH!!!! |
