Alternative to a hostel??? Jul 23, 2009 Value: Location: Cleanliness: Amenities: Bed: Bathroom & Shower: Service: I walked in to my accommodation and my heart sank a little - it looked like a prison cell!! However - I did only pay £23-00 per night so I decided just to get on with it. Corrib Village has many good points - the complimentary bus service to the village, the breakfast (eat as much as you like - toast, scones, cereal, fruit - out of a can!, coffee, tea, fruit juice). Can't fault the cleanliness. However there are also a few poor points- no tv (some sites misleadingly say all rooms have these - apparently only the ensuite ones do). It's also a fair way from town, and even cutting through the university I don't think it's the 15 minutes the accommodation website claims it is. The bus service is efficient, but only runs once an hour from 12 until 8 (although they state this on the website). cheap university Part of the Galway 2009 travel blog
