Best Flamenco en Madrid Oct 01, 2009
I recently attended a dinner and flamenco show at el Corral de la Moreria. Prior to that evening, I had no idea what to expect. Once I arrived, it seemed as though I were walking straight into the past. The tablao was small and cozy, which meant I could clearly see the stage no matter where I sat, and styled in the arab influence that is also a part of flamenco. Once we sat down, my friend and I looked over the extensive menu. Most of the food offered was traditional Spanish food. I decided to go for the roasted vegetables, leg of lamb and sorbet. I was not disappointed! It was by far the best food I have tasted during my past month in Spain. Every bite was savory and full of flavor. However, that was not the best part of the night. Once my sorbet was served, the room became dark and the guitar started. It was soon followed by the singers and flamenco dancers. This was by far the best part of the night! It was impossible not to feel the passion and energy they put into the music and dance. The audience sat enraptured throughout the entire show. Despite the length of the dancing, an hour and a half, I never got bored watching it. There were two sets of dancers, three female dancers and a couple. They each would dance a solo as well as in their set then they all danced together for the finale. It was truly breath-taking. Before the show began, my meal was delicious! Most of the food served there was traditionally spanish and it was truly mouth-watering! Although it is a bit pricey the show and dinner are definitely worth it!

Fabulous Flamenco Nov 25, 2008
I have been to the Corral de la Morería on two occasions and both were distinctive and amazing. My first visit was for a welcome dinner with my study abroad program and my welcome to Madrid could not have been more exciting and memorable. The dancers were fantastic, with emotion and authenticity. The whole show was complete with female dancers, a female and male lead, guitarists, and singers. Every minute was breath-taking and at some points I forgot about my dinner because I was so enthralled with the dancing. When I was eating, the traditional dinner was delicious. I would have to say the best part of the dinner had to be the sangria which was some of the best sangria I have ever tasted. The service was prompt and polite, but the maitre´d was the best part of the service. He personally sat us at our table and took our orders as well as checked up on us throughout the evening. He could not have been more warm and inviting, as if we were guests in his own home. My 2nd visit was with co-workers and I was pleasantly surprised at how different the show was. There are new artists every month and the 2nd time was just as fabulous and even better than the first. Nothing about the good food and service had changed, but the show continued to excite me. The magical evening could not have ended better, but it did when I walked out of the restaurant to find an amazing night-time view of the cathedral and the city of Madrid from across the bridge. A magical evening indeed…

Jessica wanted to see a flamenco show, so we talked to the desk staff at our hotel and got reservations for a show at El Corral de la Morería.   We had a nice dinner at a café across from the Catedral de la Almudena, which made for a beautiful sunset scene.   The show was good, though I think it was a bit pricey (35 Euros or 45 with… Madrid, Day 3: Prado and Flamenco
