My friend Russell Rush works at the top 40 radio station here in San Antonio. Because of this job, he gets many perks; such as, but not limited to, free concert tickets. Well, Russell being the great guy he is, and me being the unrelenting fan of Augustana that I am, he gave me two free concert tickets to see Augustana. There was a catch, however.
The catch being that the concert was in Corpus Christi (2 1/2 hours away) and on a Tuesday (I have a 9-6er) so, that being said....I rented ...

Departed our home town of Corpus Christi
on a short hop to Houston
around 7PM Friday evening. Reaching the
Continental hub proved auspicious, as we immediately saw our Vegas departure
was delayed an hour. There was also a
gate change and my wife was viewing the cup as half full, by noticing the good
omen that our new gate was E-21 (Eric turning 21…hmmmm). Our party consisted of myself, my wife Kim,
Eric and our nine-year old daughter Spencer.
Of course ...

The family arose at 4AM today to embark for the Islands. Most folks don’t realize how remote Hawaii is, but since my two previous visits began from Maine I can share an interesting perspective. You fly 3,000 miles from Maine to Los Angeles and then board a flight to go practically another 3,000 miles! I realize the international voyagers on this excellent site will laugh at this slight distance and a mere three-to-six hour time change…but I suspect it migh...

Ever feel like every minute is an hour? That's how I felt on my ride to Corpus Christi...the Texas scenery consisted of dead/alive plantlife, cacti, and road. Of course, the riveting crazy rancher stories Paul told me made the trip soooo much better, perhaps I will always be afraid of ranchers...thanks Paul now I can be traumatized!
Ok, so yay, I see water and palm trees and civilization...we are in Corpus! What better thing to do than explore the city right? S...

This was my first time visiting Texas. I was surprised to see how nice it really was at the coast.

My hubby cycled 150 miles from San Antonio to Corpus Christi to raise money for MS. Here are some photos of my family at Corpus Christi Beach.

Said goodbye to Maria this morning and headed-up to Corpus Christi to look around and have some seafood.
Did the drive along the S.P.I.D. (pronounced S-P-I-D), the South Padre Island Drive. It was kind of disappointing. On the map the drive is along an archipelago between texas and the gulf of mexico but when you're driving it you're actually about a mile from the water. Not like most oceanside drives. All you could see were the new condos being put up.

We are "on the road again". Plan to travel the perimeter of the US this time out. Deep South to East Coast, New England states and some of Canada.

This was only going to be about my trip to Europe, but my entire month of August is so sporadic, I decided to add it too. I'm moving from Austin to Baltimore for grad school, so I'm visiting friends and family first, then heading to Europe, and closing out with a security conference in Chicago.
