Half-timbered building at 26-28 Cornmarket Street Jan 15, 2017
Cornmarket Street is the main pedestrian zone in Oxford's City Centre. Most of the street consists of the usual shops you will find in any British High Street, but by far the most interesting building is located close to its northern end, close to the junction with ship street. It has the address 26-28 Cornmarket Street and is the oldest half-timbered building in Oxford.

Originally, it was a large inn built in 1386. One half of it was lost and the other half is now the building with the crooked wooden beams and uneven floors. It is now owned by Jesus College and as of 2016, it housed a sandwich shop (Pret a Manger) and a currency exchange office.
