Friendly service, generous portions, damn good May 04, 2011
While driving thru Memphis, searching for cheap gas I came across Corky's BBQ joint. Very little parking available, which is a good sign. Was greeted instantly by the host ad soon as I opened the door. As he walked me to my table, we were stopped so a guest could say how impressed they were with the server and the food. Another good sign. Since I was traveling, my plan was to get a small meal. I selected the brisket plate; it came with beans, cole slaw and two indulgent deep fried rolls for $9.99. Needless to say, I liked the fried bread, but was more impressed by the coleslaw. It has to be made every hour, tasted so fresh and creamy with just the right hint of sweet and tart. The brisket was very tender as I expected being in the BBQ capital of the world. As far as my small plate, didn't look like much, but I managed to make three meals out of it. Wasn't hard to find room in the icechest for food that great!

Pictures on the wall included Cindy

Crawford and other various and sundry famous people. Jenni had the wet ribs and

hush puppies. They were excellent and the hush puppies were made with

jalapeƱos. Yummi! Peter had a pulled pork sandwich, Memphis style with coleslaw

on top and then finished off my ribs.It was all delicious.
