Córdoba is a popular backpackers site and there are tons of hostels all over town. All have variations on Cordoba Backpackers Hostel or Hostel for Backpackers in Cordoba, you get the idea. I stayed at an HI one for one night and while it wasn't horrible, well, I left and came to Tango. The hostel itself has a homey feel, with a patio off the dining room and a fairly big kitchen. The rooms were good and the shared bath stayed pretty clean for the amount of people who were in and out of there. The typical bread and jam breakfast was included and every night the staff put on a big dinner with options enough to satisfy everyone, and pretty much every night after eating everyone would head out to the nearby bars and discos together. It was a great atmosphere.
I also dug the high quality tours they connect you with. I did one that was a ride on polo horses through beautiful countryside for 3 hours or so, and ended with an asado at the farm. i have ridden on some horrible horses with tours like this, but these were well cared for and the whole day was lovely. all for 160 pesos. I also hiked through the condor canyon area with a private guide through Tango and had another beautiful day. Great amenities for such a cheap hostel! |
