Delicious cakes and breakfast - Coqui Bakery and Cafe Nov 20, 2009
This is a modern (for the city standards) cafe, very popular among the locals and recommended. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, some tables, a bar and a second floor.
They are a bakery and also restaurant. They bake their own bread and cakes, which are delicious. Their menu is very wide, including: sandwiches, pies, appetizers, salads, breakfast, lunch, coffee, even wine & beer.
We came here for breakfast and for a sweet snack. Shawn got the typical breakfast which had a juice, coffee, bread and tamal (similar to a corn cake but salty). I got a fruit salad which was huge and very tasty. It came with yogurt, granola and honey :P
All the cakes looked so good, that was very difficult to decide for one. We ended trying the sauco (local blueberry) cheesecake and pineapple pie. Both of them were very tasty!!!
Service is very good and portions are good size. The prices are slightly higher than in another cafeteria, but still cheap compared to Lima. But most important, every single cent is worth it!!!
If you are in Huancayo and are looking for breakfast or just a snack, be sure to stop here. No regrets at all.
