today's my time to go back to germany, it was a long vacation, too long for my standards, coz i miss my kids at work, my neighborhood and... düsseldorf. but before, i treated vanessa and kim brunch at the butterfly at stroget. was a good breakfast, but really expensive, skandinavia is very very expensive to tour around. after that, we took a small walk to vaneesa's neighbrhood, nyhavn - kim and me clowned around :) had such a nice time with him, we bonded at vanessa's flat since vanessa was ...

Finally a day where I did not have to prepare for an interview or have to wear a suit! I started off by sleeping in most of the morning and missed the free breakfast (darn!). I decided to wander north of the city, towards the area of Norrebro. There was not much to see or do there as it was more of a residential neighborhood but it was great to see someting off the beaten track. Then it was a wander back to the shopping district for those presents for the family and friends.
In the aft...

Coming to
the last day of a trip always involves some mixed emotions for me. I want to
keep travelling – but on the other hand it is also nice to get home. The last
day is usually a day where I can’t really find something to do – this day is
the same. I just go get breakfast go to the internet and that’s pretty much all
I can get around to before I have to leave at noon. Well the fact that I am not a
really big fan of Cairo with the heat, the smog and the
general traffic madnes...

Before I start I just really need to get off my chest that I absolutely loved Copenhagen. I’ve been missing it like you miss your girlfriend or your family and I was only there for two nights. The train from Berlin reached Hamburg where we had to transfer. I had actually been contemplating going to either Hamburg or Frankfurt on my way back to Amsterdam but realised I didn’t like either of these fastfoods. Besides, by going up to Copenhagen I’d get to see another ne...

I enjoyed my last Danish pastry for the trip with my coffee and then it was time to pack up and check out of the Kong Arthur. Our flight back to Berlin was not until 6:00pm, so we checked our luggage into the bell desk headed back out for a final stroll around Copenhagen.
It was a sunny gorgeous day and everything was sparkly clean after two days of rain. We headed down the pedestrian walk and stopped in to see the Danish Museum of Erotika -- I had to do it since I had seen the o...

In July 2007 I received an invitation from the head office of Silver Sea Cruises to join the Silver Lab on the Silver Shadow. The Silver Lab is for training purposes for all the crew members that are new within the fleet and took me one week.
In total we were 8 people that joined for the lab. The cruise started in Copenhagen and finished in Stockholm. In the mean time we were passing Warnemünde, Poland, Visby and Latvia as well as Finland. It was a really nice cruise, as we didn't had any ...

I flew from London Stansted to Copenhagen Kastrup. At the airport I got a free map & took a train into Copenhagen proper. I walked around a few blocks near the train station, found a few hotels and eventually chose one.
Once settled, I walked aimlessly, ate dinner, had some ice cream, and eventually ended up at some water. I didn't know where I was (now I can tell you that it was Amalienborg) but I figured out fairly quickly that it was important with all...

We returned to Copenhagen from Roskilde for our last evening in Denmark. On our way back to our hotel, we stopped at Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek. A very impressive museum. Definitely worth your time if you are in Copenhagen.

On Sunday, Allie had to get a very early flight. This left me in Copenhagen with a free day. Well, I thought, I only have about five hours. So that's about the right length of time to go for a bit of a wander, in the general direction of the Little Mermaid, and see what happens.
Copenhagen was actually pretty mild - you couldn't say it was warm, but I certainly didn't need my extra jumper. I checked in at the airport, which meant I could get rid of my bags, and went o...

Day 18. (November 23rd):
Our last day … We packed our last things, bought Egyptian perfume etc. My mother asked Jasper’s sister what time the bus was leaving, and she said 10 min. My mother told me about it and we hurried to pack our last things! We ran over to the information. My mom ran back to the apartment to help Mai with her stuff. I was waiting close to the buses, and suddenly I saw Jasper in a bus; he didn’t see me. We didn’t have each others phone number, address etc...

Got a few hours to kill in Denmark's captivating capital? Here's a quick way to get to know cosmopolitan Copenhagen. STROLL through the courtyard of Amalienborg Palace, the royal couple's impressive winter residence, and down to the waterfront to see the statue of Hans Christian Andersen's famed Little Mermaid. EAT at Cap Horn, a charming cafe nestled snugly amidst the cobblestone streets and brightly colored houses of Copenhagen's new harbor, Nyhavn. Sample a traditio...

I noticed today how completely out of context I am. I think that most people picture a real business woman as someone with a black suit or skirt, high heels, straight hair and trendy glasses. Most of the people I meet at hotels usually look very business-like. The men are handsome in their suits with a briefcase or a lab top in their hands, while talking with someone on their cell phone.
I'm nothing like that. Some of it has to do with me being a journalist, I think. I prefer my j...

Today was very rainy and cold. Everyone had work or school so I took
the train into the city. I tried to take a lot of pictures. The rain
made it difficult. It was very dark, also. I felt bad about not knowing
Danish when I went into stores or tried to order food. At some point I
had decided that I should try to learn as much of the language of a
place as possible before I went there, and this proved the intelligence
behind that. Yes, most people knew how to speak English, but I should
