( Many have asked, and I am part Danish part Swedish (not 100pct danish) - But I see Denmark as MY home-country :) ) I think Denmark is a Diamond in the Rough. When people travel, they wish to see masterpieces, monuments, bounty beaches, rain-forests and thing like that. I live here and I'm gonna t…

Once again we managed to slipp away to a destination out of Oslo without the kids. It was easy this time since Kristoffer was at a football cup for the weekend and Rochelle up north in Tromsø.
We thought a short flight would be good and the choice fell on Copenhagen. Mostly since i haven't been …

So, I got up as soon as the alarm went off. I slept but only due to some sleeping assistance. I still didn't sleep very much. I got up at 7:00 for my 9:20 flight.
I was up, showered, and ready to go by 7:30. One of the guys who runs the hostel was sleeping on a blow up mattress in the living room…

Finally a day where I did not have to prepare for an interview or have to wear a suit! I started off by sleeping in most of the morning and missed the free breakfast (darn!). I decided to wander north of the city, towards the area of Norrebro. There was not much to see or do there as it was more of…

Off to Copenhagen for another conference, this one on rheumatoid arthritis. I had the morning free before the conference so I wandered around central Copenhagen. Despite being in a cranky mood after a lack of sleep in my hotel, I was soon chuckling as Doug Lansky, from Lonely Planet, had set up a s…

Before I start I just really need to get off my chest that I absolutely loved Copenhagen. I’ve been missing it like you miss your girlfriend or your family and I was only there for two nights. The train from Berlin reached Hamburg where we had to transfer. I had actually been co…

Today is a start of a good day and head to the canteen for breakfast, which mainly consisted of cold cuts and bread. So to get creative you get 2 pieces of bread and put your cold cuts between to make a sandwich. Quite genius.!Then we join on to our Contiki bus and head into the city of Copenhagen.…

We returned to Copenhagen from Roskilde for our last evening in Denmark. On our way back to our hotel, we stopped at Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek. A very impressive museum. Definitely worth your time if you are in Copenhagen.

I enjoyed my last Danish pastry for the trip with my coffee and then it was time to pack up and check out of the Kong Arthur. Our flight back to Berlin was not until 6:00pm, so we checked our luggage into the bell desk headed back out for a final stroll around Copenhagen.
It was a sunny gorg…

I flew from London Stansted to Copenhagen Kastrup. At the airport I got a free map & took a train into Copenhagen proper. I walked around a few blocks near the train station, found a few hotels and eventually chose one.
Once settled, I walked aimlessly, ate dinner, h…

It was great to be back in Copenhagen again in spite of the freezing weather. It has been nearly 8 years since the last time I have been there and it was still as beautiful as I remember it. It was very difficult to leave my beloved behind, but I will be back again in the spring.
