Awesome display and extravaganza Aug 02, 2012
Copenhagen International Sand Sculpture Festival 2012 is one of the largest and an amazing sand sculpture events taking place in Northern Europe and I had planned to visit it before it was suppose to close the 5th of August. The festival has been so popular that they just have prolonged it to the 5th September 2012, which gives you another month to visit it, if you have not done it yet.

The entry fee is 50 Dkr or 6,50 euro and I found it well worth to visit for the money. The sculptures are created by some of the world’s most talented sand artists and I especially found that some of the themes were brilliant.

The festival is located on Ofelia Beach, which is in the heart of Copenhagen City not far from the infamous Nyhavn. The exhibition is located really nice because it is surrounded by water to three sides. You also have The Royal Palace Amalienborg, The Royal Playhouse and The Opera House as a part of the frame around the amazing sculptures.

Don't but it took some time because I remembered watching it on TV - I guess a week.
