Copacabana Rio Hotel Rio de Janeiro Reviews
Hotel worth every penny, the room is not... Feb 16, 2012
The staff was really friendly and helpful. I had no language problems witch is rear in Brazil.
The service is excellent and the included breakfast was really good.
My room was actually tiny and without a window but other than that it had everything I need. The bed was good the shower was excellent. It had air-condition that was relatively quiet and excellent internet connection both wireless and with cable.
The rooftop swimming pool is exotic, the view and the bar, its just magnificent.
But the best thing with the hotel is the location. 1 minute to the Copacabana beach and 10 minutes walk to the Ipanema beach. Nice restaurants all around and bus stop just across the street where you can take the bus to all of the tourist attractions [Corcovado, Sugerlof, santa Teresa, etc]
Sure the room was small and windowless but, who books a hotel in Rio to stay in there room all day?
The only flaw I can mention is the elevators. On rush hours you might need to wait a bit for your turn....
It is not a cheap hotel but I would not say it was expensive given this excellent location, service and amenities.

Recommended tourist hotel Sep 26, 2011
Visited February 2011. Typical big city 3-star tourist hotel. Not expensive, nor cheap.
Stayed 5 days at this well located and reasonably priced hotel just one street behind Copacabana Beach.
Staff: Very friendly and helpful throughout. We had several questions for the receptionists about where to go for good food, attractions, nightlife etc. All answered friendly and patiently in English, with bonus-info, drawing maps and so on.
Rooms: Stayed at one of the top-floors away from traffic, with a balcony with good city views (not sea view - there is sea view from rooftop swimming pool) Room was clean and neat with everything in function. Small old-school TV, but never in use as we only used the room for sleep and shower. Room-service worked well. The included breakfast buffet was well assorted and quality as expected, but not more.
Location: Indeed very well located, as it was only a 15 minutes walk from Ipanema beach and nightlife, as well. Close to Metro station. As I remember taxi-rides to ex. Pao de Acucar (Sugar Loaf Mountain) and Corcovado (Christ figure) was between 15-20 reais.
Area in general: Banks, supermarkets, small bars and diners all within a short distance. It felt save day and night, as there were people and cars, 24-hours.
Amenities worth mentioning: free Internet and wireless. Lobby bar and relax area. Rooftop swimming pool.
