Coop Lodge Kabayan Reviews
Coop Lodge Jul 11, 2008
If you are going to Kabayan you pretty much got two choices when it comes to accommodation. Either you can stay with a private family or you will have to stay at Coop Lodge given it is the only place in town.
It is a nice little lodge which is run by a lady who is around most of the time – or she will be fairly nearby doing whatever she will have to. The rooms are at the upstairs with one bunk bed per room. All the rooms are in principal dorms but if you come in the off season you will get a room to yourself for the same prices as a dorm room. Hence it does not really feel like a dorm room.
There is a small common area at the top of the stair with a sofa group around a table where you can stay and chat with the other guest. There are two common toilets and two showers in the back of the hotel. The showers are interesting with a showerhead and everything you would expect from a shower. There is a bit of a problem with them though. When you try to turn on the water no water appears at the shower head at any of the showers. But at least there is a bucket so you can splash yourself with water – cold water that is.
You can get to the hotel by using the ordinary bus to Kabayan. If you are a strange looking European the driver or conductor in the bus will kick you of the bus just outside the hotel. If you look like a Pilipino and speak with a bit of a local accent you may have to let them know where you want to get of.
