Coolum Overview

Located on the Sunshine Coast between Maroochydore and Noosa, Coolum is one of the Coast's best kept secrets. Coolum beach is a must for any surfer and it is one of the best places to sit on the beach and watch the whales play during winter.

Beside the beach, Mt Coolum is Coolum's other natural attraction. It is a rite of passage for any true Sunshine Coast local to climb Mt Coolum at least once. It is an easy one hour round trip walk to scale to the top and back, but leave extra time to enjoy the great views from the top.

An annual highlight is the Australian PGA Golf tournament which is held during the first week of December. The PGA attracts Australian and international golf stars including John Daly, Peter Senor and Adam Scott. The event also attracts thousands of visitors and celebrities for the event.

Another annual event is the Coolum Kite Festival which has firmly become an international event for professional and amateur kite enthusiasts.

Coolum provides a range of accommodation options from the 4 Star Hyatt Regency Resort, hotels and bed & breakfasts. The Coolum Hyatt has hosted a number of celebrities including the Rolling Stones... and Australia's Kath & Kim.

An iconic Sunshine Coast restaurant, The Spirit House, is a short drive from the centre of Coolum.

Coolum is one of the closest Sunshine Coast towns to the airport, and buses provide an easy service to visit the rest of the Coast.

Coolum is a great place to visit!
