Prescriptive Misadventure & Bad Weather At LAX I think I was the very last person to check in at the Air New Zealand Desk. The second to last person was Andrew from the Isle of Man. Clearly we're kindred spirits in our tardiness, & from then on we became good friends and spent th…

Rarotonga, The Cook Islands
posted by:

The Edgewater hotel offered a dinner dance show.  The show is put on twice per week and the restaurant was packed.  Probably due to the lack of nightlife in Rarotonga.  It was pretty much what you would expect - an emcee that tells bad jokes, girls in coconut bras and over-amplified…

Aitutaki was awarded the most beautiful island in the world and rightfully so. The island is part of Cook Islands and is situated in the Pacific Ocean. Aitutaki consists of many motus which makes a circle. In the middle there is a beautiful turquoise lagoon. To snorkel or scuba dive here is like sn…

I've had a great time in the Cook Islands. After nearly missing the flight in LA and being a bit indifferent to it at the time, I'm really glad I made it. I've been staying on the main Island of Rarotonga which is around 8 miles across. It is a island with a mountainous interior covered in rainfore…

We  returned from our nice warm (well...... more very hot and humid really) holiday in Rarotonga.   We can thoroughly recommend the Cook Islands as a great place for a real lazy holiday. There is not a great deal to do there except make your own fun and laze and swim etc.   …

Nadi, Fiji -› Yasawas, Fiji -› …
This trip was totally out of the blue, whilst on my Working Holiday Visa in New Zealand, I needed to get away from windy Wellington so I chose this strange combination. I was spoilt with beautiful deserted Motu in the South Pacific and amazed at the Japanese culture, its a Country like no other I've ever witnessed, a place I fell in love with and hope to return very soon.

After checking out, I was left with the straight forward task of catching a bus to the airport. (A word about the bus service on Rarotonga: there are two buses, one that travels clockwise, whilst the other runs anti-clockwise, they both pick-up and drop-off at the same places, with the route taking…

After studying so hard in Auckland we decided we need some vacation - some real vacation - so we went to Rarotonga the main island of the Cook Island. Although the weather was not the best - we met heaps of nice people and learned what it means to live on a tropical island: always wear flowers in your hair and drive around the island with your best friend- your scooter ;)
