Continental Airlines Reviews
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Will fly with again :) Apr 26, 2008
I have used Continental Airlines on two trips from Oslo to Columbia, South Carolina. It was not only the cheapest option, but it was also the ONLY airline that only had one stop (Newark).
I had no major problems and I will definatly use Continental again if they come up as the reasonable alternative. Good service on board and when checking in, and no lost luggage. I do however have a couple of notes, neither of which are Continentals full responsibility: 1. Newark is a mess. I have read somewhere that up to 20% of ALL flights to and from this airport is delayed, and this includes plenty of the Continental ones. be prepared to circle around and around and around, or to get stuck for an hour in line waiting to take off, regardless of which airline you're with. The only thing I can say towards Continental in particular about this is that when it is a known fact that so many flights get stuck in trafficjams, information from the cockpit could be a bit better. it offends my intelligence when the pilots claim they don't know what is going on (its a traffic jam! even i can see that) or that it seems like a total surprise that there's so many planes in front of them in line. 2. if your flight is cancelled and you are offered either an overnight stay or a flight with a different company, TAKE THE OVERNIGHT COUPON. I got stuck in newark, was offered to go with a different continental flight to atlanta instead of columbia, and to fly with a different company from atlanta to columbia later that night. in my mind i just wanted to get to columbia asap so off i went. big mistake. when i finally arrived in atlanta (after further delays from newark, as usual), the second flight to columbia was so much delayed that it was cancelled (I later found out that the Columbia airport simply closed for the night, something that maybe Continental could have warned me about when it was already getting late in Newark).. it was almost midnight and there was NO service from either company. i had to spend the night at the airport, and i arrived in columbia the next day, a couple hours later than i would if i had just taken my free night in Newark :( I can not blame this entirely on Continental as it was my choice, but it was them who gave me the options and so it was part of my Continental experience. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Great Airline company Apr 26, 2008
After traveling with both British Airways and American Airlines, and not exactly found them to be any good, I decided to fly Continental Airlines when going to Florida.
Let me tell you, it was the best airliner I've traveled with yet. They were on time, the crew on board were very serviceminded and sweet, and best of all, my luggage wasn't left behind somewhere.... So next time I'm flying to the States, no matter where there, I'll be flying Continental. And besides, they are for some reason the only airliner flying straight to the US. All the others go thru some airport in Europe. |
