Bat Bridge! Jul 04, 2011
I was recently in Austin, TX and we stopped to watch this site that attracts tons of people. The Congress Avenue Bridge is home to probably hundreds of bats. They like to sleep under the bridge during the day and then at dusk they all fly out and people come to watch this. We went and when we got the bridge there were TONS of people waiting for these bats to fly out. As the sun went down the bats started to come out. There were tons of them! And they don't just fly like everywhere they have a route they take and miraculously their route does not involve flying over the spectators. We watched and watched and let me tell you these bats just kept on coming! It was pretty cool. A great free activity to do in Austin!
