Complex of Goguryeo Tombs Sariwon Reviews
Decent looking hotel with it's limitations May 03, 2010
This hotel was donated by a south korean business man, who was once a north korean. The building looks nice and the entry hall is quite spacious, of course a large painting and several paintings of both Leaders are present.
The room was again a suite. It was modern and nicely decorated. First the hallway, then a living room, with access tot he balcony. The bedroom looked good as well, but the bed was a bit hard. The night was okay though.
And the bathroom was decent, but again the bathtub was filled with water and the small basket present. So, no running water again.
Later, our guide Mr. Kim, explained us that we had warm water to shower for 1 hour in the evening and 1 hour in the morning.
There was a small book shop, as well as a small convenient store. The bar was really small, compared to the big dining room. The dinner was good, as well as the breakfast. We could choose between a western style and a korean style breakfast.
The staff was helpful, but hardly anyone understood english. Those who did, only knew some words.
Another advice: make sure to have your torchlight, as a power failure dcan occur. It happened in the morning, with the running water stopping as well. So gamble when you want to take a shower and shower fast just in case.
Part of the list Where to sleep in North Korea
