Comox Vacation Guide
Comox is a quiet retirement community of about 13,0000 people located in the Comox Valley on the east coast of Vancouver Island. Comox once served as the main town for military personnel to live who worked at the nearby airforce base. However, as down-sizing occurred at the military facility, Comox became more well known as a retirement location.
Located on the shore of the Georgia Strait and will a mild climate, Comox also plays host to a popular tourist destination. In the winter, skiers and snowboarders use Comox as a base for accessing the Forbidden Plateau and Mt. Washington ski hills. In the summer, tourists come to enjoy boating, fishing and hiking as well as attending some popular music and arts festivals.
