Good Hotel, bad breakfast May 16, 2010
Location: This fairly recently built three story hotel style facility with 65 guest rooms is conveniently located halfway between Memphis and Chicago, and St. Louis and Indianapolis. The lobby was quite large and nicely decorated.
Amenities: There is an indoor pool, sauna on the main floor. An exercise facility had recently been moved to the second floor to avoid rust near the pool and sauna.
Value: This was a mid-range cost for our road trip $80-$90, but quite low for a suite.
Staff: The staff was pleasant and efficient and quite knowledgeable.
Cleanliness: The entire hotel was very clean and very well maintained.
Our suite had two queen sized beds, a sofa and coffee table, refrigerator, microwave, and a desk with good internet access, color TV and cable. Some suites also have hot tubs and fireplaces, but ours did not.
The breakfast area was fairly good sized but the food they served was very bad. Like someone had prepared all of it at 5 am and set it out without trying to keep it hot and fresh. So by the time we got ours a little after 8 am the biscuits were cold, the gravy was thick and tasteless, the egg and meat mixture was, according to my wife “nasty”. Even the coffee wasn’t good. We both settled for a cup of yogurt.
