Comfort Inn Dyersville Reviews
Comfort Inn - Dyersville Jun 13, 2010
Dyersville, Iowa isn’t a very large town, maybe four or five thousand, and they don’t have many hotels or motels in town. I think they may have had three. So our choices were pretty slim. The Comfort Inn was the only chain hotel rated higher than one star. There are quite a few things to see here, such as the “Field of Dreams” movie location, the Basilica, National Farm Toy Museum, a doll museum, and a wood carving museum, and that made it good place to stop for the day.
Location: Very close to the intersection of Highway 20 and Highway 136, on the north side of the highway, just straight on once you take the off ramp from the west bound lanes, another two blocks. From the east bound lanes take the Hwy 136 exit, then left under the freeway one block and left two blocks.
Amenities: 50 guests room in this two story hotel style facility. It features an indoor heated pool, hot tub, and game room. Free local calls, newspaper, high-speed internet access and elevators.
Value: This was mid to high range $80-$90 for our trip.
Staff: The staff was helpful and pleasant and ready to give directions to any of the sights we wished to see.
Cleanliness: We found this hotel to be in pretty nice condition, fairly clean and well maintained
Our Room: Was on the second floor, so we had to take the elevator, had two queen-sized beds, a table and two chairs, iron and ironing board, TV with HBO. No microwave or refrigerator. Not the biggest room we’ve had but large enough for me to get around using my walker. The air conditioner was mounted high on the wall and looked like it was a recent addition with the plug and wire where they were next to the window.
Bed: The beds were fairly comfortable and included more ultra soft pillows than you could use.
Bath: The bath was medium sized handicapped accessible with hold bars, hand held shower nozzle and a hair dryer, soap, shampoo and conditioner, and sufficient clean towels. The bathroom sink was actually in a small alcove in the entry hall of the room across from the bathroom door.
Breakfast: Was served in a medium sized room and was clean and staffed with a young lady who liked to help. They didn’t serve very much so we ate waffles, yogurt, orange juice and coffee. They also had several cold cereals, other juices, and milk. Nothing very special to write home about.
