Comfort Inn Airport Hollywood (Florida)

We found this hotel as a comfortable place to stay the night before leaving on our cruise. It is conveniently located near the airport and just minutes away from Port Everglades. A complimentary shuttle transports guest from airport to hotel and from hotel to cruise port. The price seemed a little expensive, but reasonable as far as other hotels in the area.

The pool area is inviting. The evening we were there grilled hamburgers could be purchased at the poolside bar. The pool deck had ample lounges with many tables and chairs scattered around. The bar tender was always very busy serving up beer and mixed drinks.

The staff manning the main desk was very friendly and helpful. Check in was quick and easy. Having the reservation papers printed ahead of time helped speed this process greatly.

The room was clean and neat, but nothing fancy. The bed was pretty comfortable. The rooms were quiet. We were in the second building near the back, and no road noise was detected.

The hotel offered a complimentary continental breakfast. Coffee, juice, pastries, waffles, cereals and milk. Again, nothing fancy. The breakfast room was way too small around the 9:00 hour.

Shuttles for the cruise port left by ship name. Our group went in an air conditioned mini bus which pulled a trailer for the luggage. We were to meet in the lobby at 11:30 for an 11:45 shuttle. It was a good thing we were early since the shuttle loaded at 11:00 and took off when full. Shuttles were also offered for the Port of Miami.

All in all, this Comfort Inn rates above average all around. Nothing fancy, but very comfortable.
