Comfort Hotel Trondheim Reviews
Find somewhere else to stay Aug 14, 2011
Comfort Hotel Trondheim is located in the city centre. The reception staff is very sweet and helpful. Their uniform consists of tennis shoes, jeans and t-shirt, which reflects the style of this hotel. The décor is very modern, which doen´t always mean comfortable.
The rooms are small, particularly the single rooms, there are no wardrobe and nowhere to put the luggage. The desk was very narrow. When you have put your laptop on it, there was no room for a folder or a notebook. By the desk there was a barstool, which is not very comfortable if you have to work at the desk. The lighting in the room was too dark to read. Some rooms have tea/coffee making facilities, but far from all. The mini bar was empty, but you can buy drinks in the reception. The only highlights in the room was a large flat screen TV and free WI-FI. If you don’t have your own laptop there are 10 guest PC in the lobby. The air in the room was not very fresh. If you open the window it either faces a narrow courtyard or inside the hotel.
The bathroom was small, decorated with white tiles, which gave it a clean look. There were no amenities. The bathroom door was of frosted glass and did not close properly. The door can´t be locked either and there is no door handle, only a big hole. The lightening was bad.
Breakfast was served in the Krem Kaffebar located in the lobby. The hotel doesn´t have a restaurant and therefore buy this service from the café. It was nothing great. The selection of cold cuts was limited and they ran out of bread rolls one hour before breakfast ended. What they called orange juice was nothing but watery cool aid.
The light in the hallways is turned off as soon as there is no movement there. Only some changing neon lights can bee seen at the end of each corridor. Very annoying!
There is a fitness room on the ground floor if you feel like sweating out your frustration.
I feel sorry for the reception staff. They really do a great job, but it doesn´t make up for the rest of the hotel. There are many other hotels in Trondheim so why stay at the Comfort Hotel Trondheim.
