This is up from other years when I’ve paid only $7.00. I will tell you that Home Depot runs out of tickets FAST!

We try to make it down to the home and garden show every year. If for nothing else, a small taste of spring.

One half of the show is area landscapers who have set up massive displays to showcase their talents and various plants. There’s a theme every year, this one was stories. Displays included The Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe; Winnie the Pooh; and various Disney tales. Each one was done very nicely. My favorite was The Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe. You walked into the display through a wardrobe door. The first part of the display was frosted pine tree with hints of snow all around. When you turned the corner it was like in-your-face springtime. The colors and smells were bright and cheery. It was truly an experience of many senses. All of the displays we went through were set up beautifully.

The other half of the show is vendors for every home-related. You could get information on sunrooms, roofing, in-home sprinkler systems, quilts, Amish furniture, hot tubs, wine cellars, CutCo knives (we went home with a couple), BBQ recipes, and MUCH MUCH more.

Overall, we saw most everything in 4 hours. We went home with a few goodies and a lot of nice ideas for spring. It was worth the cost and time, if nothing else, to smell hyacinths in the air!
