Good food, prompt, and centrally located! Mar 21, 2011
Columbia Harbour House is a counter service restaurant located at Liberty Square in Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom. We've stopped here for lunch a few times on different trips. It's very consistent.

The fare includes tuna sandwiches, fish and chips, chicken nuggets, clam chowder, and salads. I went with the Tuna Sandwich, which comes with French Fries, and Susan with a Garden Harvest Salad. (A package of apple slices may be substituted for French Fires.)

The lines moves very quickly. You give your order to a cashier and pay and then move forward to the counter to pick up your food. There are several rooms in which to eat, all themed in a New England seafaring style. It's doesn't seem like a fast food restaurant at all. Columbia Harbour House is centrally located in Magic Kingdom, making it easy to reach from any point in the park. It's a good place for a group to arrange to meet for a meal if people have split up to do different activities.

Finding somewhere to eat in a major theme park at a "normal" eating time can be a nightmare: long lines and limited seating. While Columbia Harbour House can have long lines, it is set up to handle large crowds, so these lines tend to move quickly. Additionally, finding a seat is rarely a major problem (as long as the upstairs is open which during summer season, it will be). Fish and chicken products dominate the menu (Harbour House after all). It is themed after an old inn one might find in New England. During our visit, we sat in the bridge that divides Fantasyland from Liberty Square and could watch people moving about; it was also an uncrowded space and a really nice escape from the large crowds outside. I had a chicken caesar salad; my dad had a basket of chicken and fish fingers. Mom and sis also had salads. On a previous occasion, I have had the tuna fish sandwich and also enjoyed that. I would recommend this not only for the fact that the food is decent (remember it is amusement park fare) but the chance it gives you to catch your breath before continuing with touring the park.
