Colorado National Monument Reviews

This relatively little known scenic area of the Colorado plateau is well worth the time to see, even if you only drive the approximately 20 miles Rim Rock Drive. I wouldn't have known about it until a close friend told me about it. His recommendation proved to be well worth while.
The sandstone cliffs are full of color and wonderful formations. There are a small number of camp spots available near the visitor’s center and several trails that open wonderful opportunities to see amazing sites. The area is made up of several canyons, steep cliffs and rock formations. About 6 miles away is Rattlesnake Canyon which is only accessible by foot and contains the second largest group of rock arches in the world. So this is one review I hope gets read and people discover just how scenic this area is. Part of the 2006 Summer around the Western U.S. travel blog |
