We made it to Colonia after a straightforward 7 hour trip from Punta del Diablo.  It was the former smuggling capital of Uruguay and is considered one of the "jewel in the crown" towns on the continent.   Tree-lined cobbled streets, classic colonial buildings and a very tranquil atmosphere make it a real treasure. Ahhhh....Calonia...... say goodbuy to Buenos Aires - heading off to Uruguay by a 3 hour ferry.
