A journey through Sri Lanka's ruins and tea plantations, followed by a peek into mysterious Iran. The trip included the mud-brick city of Bam, destroyed by earthquake on Boxing Day the same year.

I visited Colombo just for a day on my way to India. The city has plenty to offer for tourist in terms of history, shrines, hotel, food and shopping. Almost every place can be covered on the same day. The biggest disadvantage is thou the fear of begin hit by bombs. There's military presence everywhere and a decent drive for 30 mins will attract atleast 4-5 security checks.

As time was ending at PW, Riskhan emerged from his “disappearance.”  Riskhan was my first real “friend” at PW.  We lived in the same house, took all our meals together, and he spoke English decently.  Though I wouldn’t say we had any deep conversations, we had very genuine interactions, and I missed him tremendously when he left after my first month.  He invited me to his wedding in October, but I was due back in my “old” life by then.  He told me to com…

Plan on leaving on April 19th on a Space Available flight out of Travis Air Force Base to Yokota Air Base in Japan. Hope to catch another hop to Singapore and then a commercial flight to Sri Lanka, and the Maldive Islands.

I had volunteered to teach in an IT CENTER. At the same time i have had the opportunity to explore the country. During that period of my life I met some interesting people and made good friends!!

A 3 day weekend in Prague
