It was sometime around 10:00 p.m., when I felt the initial signs of turbulence bend the wings of our 757 as we entered the mountain range leading us into the Valle de Cauca. The Mountains of Colombia could be seen clearly under the moonlight as we began our descent into the Cali airport. It was the…

This morning Mauricio, Marcela and I were going to go to the Botanical Gardens but there is a problem with the new car, so Marcela and I took a cab to the metro and then caught the train. We got to the gardens, only to find that they were closed because there’s a big exhibition starting tom…

I rode from Ipiales to Cali, Colombia via the Fronteras/Bolivariana bus. The coach was very nice and clean in contrast to the buses I rode in Ecuador. The ride was long, much longer than the 8 or 9 hour estimate that I was given. We left Ipiales at 11:30 a.m., to arrive at 11:30 p…

Aside from Art Basel, this is probably the most exciting event to take place in Miami. On Saturday, November 3rd, 2007, Sleepless Night drew thousands of people from 6PM to 6AM for 13 hours of culture all over the City of Miami Beach. For more info on this event, visit www.sleeplessnight.org. It's sure to happen again after all the attention it got this year.

I've found the place I was looking for Carnival time, and it’s Barranquilla, Colombia. I've been to quite a few places, and I have to say that my trip to Barranquilla has been one of my best experiences ever. Barranquilleros are very warm, happy and friendly people, and the women are absolut…
