Authentic coffee by Saigonese Jun 27, 2011
The "authentic" way to drink coffee in Saigon is not in a coffee shop or in a takeaway. People usually sit on smalls chair on pavements, order for super cheap coffee which costs 50cents/glass and start their conversations. The most common place that people usually gather and that is right in the central is the big park in front of the Reunification Palace. People even don't sit on chairs. When you come to the park, the seller will give you a piece of paper so you can sit on it. Then you find a place yourself and start ordering. Here you can somehow manage to see the lifestyle of Saigonese :) Plus, different from Western taste, coffee made by Vietnamese people is usually really strong and sweet.
