Now, I'm not one to keep the Evil Empires (Wal-mart, Starbucks, and Microsoft) in power. So whenever I can, I try to hit up the local mom and pop places. Now, while I was at the University of Florida in Gainesville I tended to consume a large amount of caffine for all those nights of writing and studying. You'd be surprised how much boost you get from a cup of expresso with a scoop of chocolate ice cream in it.

Anyway if you ever pass through town or are there for a Gator football or basketball game and need a good cup of coffee, stop by the store on 13th Street. Like most coffee places it has lots of locally made baked goods, free internet, some nice jewelry from the local artsy-fartsy crowd, and great fair market coffee. It even has a drive through.

Once you have your cup of hot (or iced) coffe, sit back in one of the super comfy lounge chairs and relax. Or you can use the free computers there (2 hour limit) to surf the net. Or you can play with some board games that are provided for free. Or you can borrow a book from the "honor system" library. Or you can enjoy the live music thats usually there on Fridays. Or you get the idea. Its a pretty cool coffee shop. But be warned - alot of students like to study here, so it might be a bit crowded at times. But at least its quiet :-)
