Coburg Vacation Guide
Coburg is a small town in the Bavarian state of Germany about 110 miles east of Frankfurt.
Probably Coburg's most notable landmark is Veste Coburg (Coburg Fortress) which sits on a hill overlooking the entire city. Veste Coburg is currently a museum open to visitors daily.
Coburg is also known for it's International Samba Fest which is held the second weekend of July. This event draws a crowd of over 250,000. There is a parade, costume contests and live bands playing all weekend. Performers come from all over the world to participate.
Coburg's coat of arms bears the profile of St. Maurice who is often credited as being the first black saint, though many representations depict him as white.

This (hopefully) will be an account of my two weeks in Germany (and possibly a couple other countries) this summer starting with Rock im Ring in Nuernberg, Germany. Was too busy partying on my last trip to blog properly, but I'll try to remember to at least take advantage of my mp3 player's voice recording function to keep track of all the happenings. And there will surely be plenty of photos and video.
