Coast Edmonton House Hotel Nov 11, 2008
I was going to Edmonton, Alberta for a week of training and a guy I work with recommended that I stay at the Coast Edmonton House Hotel. The pictures of the hotel on the hotel's website really impressed me, but this wore off quickly when I entered my room.
The rooms are suites with kitchens, living rooms, and separate bedrooms. When I entered my suite, I was not impressed with what looked like a decor that was twenty years old and a rock hard bed. It was only after returning to Fort McMurray that I was told I was unlucky because the hotel is renovating its rooms and I had ended up on a floor that was not yet redone. After my disappointment with the room, I thought that ordering room service would be better. I was wrong. They delivered the food with plastic cutlery and sauce packets instead of a bottle. It cheapened the entire experience. Even though the hotel is renovating and updating its look, I still don't recommend it. The hotel's kitchen is not the best simply because every suite has a kitchen and I think they think expect you to do the cooking. For the high price of some of the rooms, I'd expect something better. |
