The city of Cluj-Napoca is one of the most important academic cultural and industrial centres in Romania. Considered to be the historic capital of Transylvania, the city is located in north-western Romania, and is approximately 200 mi (320 km) northwest of Bucharest in the Somesul Mic River Valley. The city stands on the site of an ancient Dacian settlement, Napoca, which the Romans made a municipium.
Due to the fact that it has the largest university in Romania (100 000 students for 400 000 inhabitants), it is a very good place for amusement and night life.
