cool, completely non touristy dance club Oct 13, 2008
I love the place. Wednesday and Saturdays are a mix of American and Senegalese (mbalax) music. Friday night is salsa and brings out the sophisticated, more mature crowd. Sunday is hip hop night which brings out the young, hip crowd. The bartender here, Amadou, is really friendly, not to mention a good dancer. Drink menu is limited, as is the case in all cities except Dakar and St. Louis (and other touristy spots) in Senegal. Cold beer, gin, whisky, and cold soft drinks. The atmosphere is cool retro with fish tanks, disco balls, and black lights. You will more than likely be the only tourist there, which makes it more fun. There is a lot of comfortable couches and booths as well as a packed dance floor filled with friendly folks. You won't get ripped off for price here, either. Opens at midnight, crowd comes around 1:30 and stays until around 5 am. Sandwiches for sale right outside as well as outdoor seating.
Beer (Flag)-600 CFA Entrance-around 1,000-2,000 CFA depending on the night and your gender. (1,000 CFA = appx $2) |
