Good value for money. Apr 20, 2012
I was there from March 28th to April 11th - the first 2 weeks vacation. It was my 3rd trip to this hotel. This time at the end of the season.

Value: I got it for around $1100 for 2 weeks from Toronto, booked 5 months in advance. In April, TO price was as low as $400/week. This includes flight, transfer to the resort, food, local drinks, entertainment, and so on.

They stopped charging for drinks at the disco, but when they run out of drinks, they would not re-stock it until the next day.

Food was OK, but I am not picky. There were few days some dishes, mostly meat/deserts were not available for late coming folks, but there was still plenty not to be hungry.

Entertainment was very good for this kind of place. It run in weekly cycle, so it was not as exiting the 2nd time around. Both men and women dancers are very good artists, good looking, very social, and very open. I wish I could be more open and adventures and party with them in Santiago.

Rooms and the place was very clean. The only star down would be public washrooms. I had cold water, but not a big deal for me. They had problems with infrastructure, it is very old and out of date in Cuba. There were 2 half days with no electricity and 2 half days with no water. This things can happen anywhere and happen probably more often over there. The money exchange computer was out for 3 days, but in this case the bright side was saving my dinero.

They are a bit confused about inviting Cuban friends over to spend time on the resort. Sometimes it is OK, sometimes not. The work around is to get it at Cubatur either at the hotel or in Santiago.

There are organized activities, but my focus was on the bars.

Overall good trip.
