Clifton Village Bristol Reviews
A village inside a city Jun 20, 2011
Clifton village is a small part of the Clifton suburb of Bristol. Clifton itself covers the areas of Clifton village, Clifton wood and Hotwells.
Clifton village is both elegant and unique. It contains Royal York Crescent and Princess Victoria street which both make the village what it is. The former is reputed to be the most expensive street in Bristol. The latter has a range of small boutique shops, small classy pubs and good restaurants.
This is a great place to go for a night as it is almost a bubble within Bristol. This place is relatively quiet and tempo here is definitely calm compared to the rest of Bristol! There are some nice pubs here like The Coronation Tap (which sells its own exhibition cider in half pints) and also The Albion (which isn't cheap but it is a nice place to go). The Avon Gorge Hotel is also a good place to go especially as it overlooks the Clifton suspension bridge (which looks nice lit up at night).
As for restaurants, Zizzi is a good quality italian, Fishers next door to it also has a fine selection of fish dishes. Going a little bit further afield there is an award winning indian restaurant called Rajbari, which I've always thought makes good indian dishes.
Clifton village is a good place to go and see for at least one night of your stay in Bristol! In my opinion eating with views of the Clifton suspension bridge is a must!
