Motel on the Edge of Lake Taupo Feb 03, 2005
We were referred to the Clearwater Motor Lodge by a friend who stays here every year when he competes in the Iron Man New Zealand competition. The Clearwater is right on the edge of Lake Taupo, with a great view of the water. The rooms are large, comfortable and very clean. The owners of the property treated us like long lost family, and we really felt at home staying here.
Breakfast is a real treat at the Clearwater. You place your order the night before, and the owners deliver fresh hot breakfasts right to your room! Eggs, waffles, fruit, and muesli were some of the items we tried, and all were prepared with care and skill. I highly recommend the Clearwater when in Taupo.
