clarion hotel stockholm Aug 28, 2012
this clarion hotel was a big surprise.the location was great as the underground transit system is just across the street.looked like a hip hangout as the bar and outdoor tables were packed with people and had a great vibe.the check-in was nice and smooth.the rooms i was surprised as I'm used to the clarion/choice privileges brand.the hotel was nice and rooms were clean.the buffet breakfast was amazing as they had everything from a to z and the breakfast area was really big.the location is 3 stops from central station/old town.the only bummer here -as I'm a lite sleeper and the hotel is on top of the highway.that's why i switched to the clarion sign.both were nice and would recommend them both

Nice hotel Jun 21, 2011
There are a couple of Clarion hotels in Stockholm city but it was the first time I had booked the Clarion Stockholm hotel. The Clarion Stockholm is a quite modern hotel situated outside the near perimeter of Stockholm city center in Sodermalm, but very close to a metro station, so you have actually really good connections to the city center. It is not situated far from Globen, which is one of the most used places for both sport arrangement but also concerts.

There is a quite heavy traffic surrounding the hotel but you don’t feel it when you live there: the hotel is actually built on pillars on top of some of the most densely traffic roads in Stockholm. On the opposite side of the hotel there is a small shopping center where you can buy the most necessary.

The entrance area is quite huge, and so is the hotel; is has a capacity of 532 rooms. The reception is up to the left when you enter the hotel and straight ahead you get up to your rooms. It looks almost like a ramp getting up to the elevators. Next to the reception you have one of the hotels two bars; this one called the C&C’s where they serve drinks but they also have a hotel menu.

I was given my room quite fast and I was impressed with the number of people in this hotel lobby; it was like inside a shopping mall. On the way up to the elevators some of the staffs had a taste my home country food booth where I tasted some Thai food before I went to my room. My room was on the 6st floor and there 4 four large elevators making sure that we able to get up. The room turned out to be really nice; it was bright with large windows facing on of the motorways beneath and a view towards Globen.

There was a bed consisting of two single beds put together but as soon as they saw the possibility they split up. The madras was good but the bed sucked. There was Wi-Fi in the room and a nice desk with loads of AC jacks, which I really appreciate. The bathroom was nice and all in all it was a good place to spend a night.

They hotel was full of military honorabilities, coming from all over NATO and they were all dressed up in stars and distinctions. I went quickly out of the hotel to enjoy the sunshine in Stockholm and I did not return to the hotel before a couple of hours later where I decided to visit the C&C bar in the entrance hall. The bar had both indoor and outdoor chairs but I choose to stay inside because it was getting cold.

Next morning when I woke up, it was quite impressive to see the traffic getting into Stockholm and going under the hotel. I had not heard anything to the traffic or any other noises during the night and in that sense it was a quite pleasant hotel too. The hotel had a Stockholm Taxi girl outside the hotel making sure that you would get a sound taxi and not a pirate one that take you closer to bankrupts in stead of your original objective.

Excellent Design Hotel in Südermalm Nov 28, 2008
Described as "Stockholm's Art Hotel N°1", this is an excellent place to stay when visiting Stockholm. The ultra-modern hotel is located only 20 meters from the Skanstull Tunnelbana exit on Ringvaegen in Süderholm, which is only 4 stops south of T-Centralen. You'd expect it to be noisy inside, right next to this busy street, and, I should add, there's a freeway basically running through the hotel, but we've never had such a good night sleep before. The place was so quiet that we never even heard the next door neighbours. At times we thought we were the only people in the hotel.

But we weren't, which became apparent at breakfast, but more about that later.

The hotel lobby is sleak and the staff is extremely friendly and polite and will go out of their way to assist you in any way possible. There's a little bar right next to the check in desk, with a good view of what's happening on Ringvaegen. The whole front of the hotel is glass.

Walking up the little slope to the lifts, you wonder if you stumbled onto a Monopoly board. Strange, colourfull little seats are scattered around. There's also a lot of Nordic art in the public rooms, the restaurant and the bar.

Our room was spacious and luxurious. Half of the bed was covered with pillows, which was a bit over the top if you ask me. The bathroom was also very roomy, but you had to remember it had a sliding door. You CAN actually also push it open, as I found out... repeatedly... but I wouldn't recommend it.

After a good night sleep, you head down to the breakfast hall, which is amazing. You can basically choose from about 10 kinds of bread and rolls, cereal, several kinds of cheese, a full English breakfast, raw thinly sliced vegetables, slices of melon, blood orange and pineapple, cakes, coffee and tea.

Tell me where do you find smoked salmon and reindeer at a breakfast buffet? Exactly.

We booked this hotel through and got a special "3 nights for 2" deal, which made this hotel extremely affordable.

Of all the hotels I've stayed in in my life, this one is definately Top 5. Highly recommended!
