Clare's Rock Hostel is located in the unspoilt village of Carron in the heart of the Burren at one of the highest points in the Burren Mountains. It overlooks the largest Turlough (disappearing lake) in Western Europe. This purpose built hostel provides private family rooms for 4 people (1 double and 1 bunk bed), breakfast (for groups only) and ensuite rooms. We offer full self-catering kitchen facilities. Group meals can be arranged in the pub/restaurant adjacent to hostel. We also offer a book exchange...(see more), high speed internet access and bike hire. Lectures on the Burren can be arranged for groups and local tourist information is available including maps of walking routes Burren farming is very unique. Being a special area of conservation it must be farmed in an environmetally friendly way. On our farm we are happy to show visitors around and answer are questions they might have. *Please note that the 4 bed private room contains 1 double bed and 1 bunk more suitable for families. The 6 bed private room contains 1 double bed and 2 bunks. Family = parents/guardians + children under 18 years of age. If only 2 people book a 4 bed room a discount is offered on check-in. The same applies to the 6-bed dorm if only 4 people book it. Full facilities for disabled person. *Payment on arrival must be made in cash*
