Perfect Parisian Apartment ! Dec 31, 2006

Located in the 18th district just a block or two from the Basilique du Sacre-Coeur, this non smoking 65 m2 adorable apartment is near the Metro Line 12 (Jules Joffrin) and Line 4 (Chateau Rouge) and as such makes all of Paris easily accessible. We stayed there for New Years and the first week of January in 2007.

The ground floor has an area for mail, trash, and elevator and a stairwell. The apartment is located on the very next floor (the second floor as us North Americans call it; first floor otherwise). The hallway has a coat closet and a small table with phone.

Down the hall way to your right has the bathroom (with toilet, shower and washing machine!!!), the kitchen and the second bedroom. The kitchen was fully stocked with a large size refrigerator/freezer, an oven, a four-burner range and griddle, and a dishwasher. The second bedroom has two twin bed that can be easily put together to make a nice comfy king size bed.

The first/master bedroom with its queen bed is located off of the living room behind two French double doors. The doors are French windowed type but there are curtains for privacy. The closet spaces is both rooms are quite ample, even for me who usually finds this a problem. In the master bedroom there is also a small desk with a mac computer and free high speed internet usage.

The living space directly opposite the entrance has a dining area, an overstuffed chair and a fold out sofa bed, as well as a flat screen TV with cable, DVD Player, a selection of DVD's, a stereo and some helpful books. The large picturesque windows in both bedrooms and the living room all face Rue Custine but both the street and the apartment are very quiet.

We found everything to be of high quality; from service and decor down to the large heavenly pillows which were so wonderful I still need to find out where they bought them. We were a group of four plus a friend from England who visited for two days. She remarked that she was very surprised at how comfortable the fold out couch was.

Unlike most apartment rental places the price included tax and everything so there were no surprise charges later. I also loved the stress free feeling of knowing that everything we needed was there and didn't cost extra. Extra pillows, hairdryer, extra blankets, a computer, wifi internet, towels, ironing board, and best of all a telephone with voice mail and unlimited local and national calls (also includes some internationals calls to the USA & Canada) ... there was even a nicely decorated Christmas tree!

The area has lots of nice little shops and cafes. We really felt like we were in Paris but without all the dirt or noise.

Sleeps: 2-6 adults
Rates: 1300 €/week or 235 €/night (min 3 nights) except Christmas and New Years (7 night minimum)
Payment: Paypal

They also have other size apartments in Paris and now in Italy, while I havent stayed in any of those I recommend taking a look at those too: http://www.feelslikehomeinparis.com/
