Civic Center Farmer's Market Reviews
Civic Center Farmer's Market May 20, 2009
Every Wednesday and Sunday, the Civic Center UN Plaza is lined with stands selling fresh produce and other edibles. This is the place to go to stock up on your fruits and veggies for the week, and you can also get plenty of food ready to eat. There is fresh popped kettle corn, a tamale cart, an Indian stand with great samosas as well as bottled chutneys, and fresh baked good on some days. Nothing is guaranteed though. Some vendors are there one week and gone the next, and some are there in the same place week after week no matter what. If the weather is nice and you get there before too late in the afternoon, the place is full of vendors. Along with organic strawberries, apples, mushrooms, garlic, potatoes, and artichokes, you can find nuts, dried fruits, eggs, and potted flowers and herbs.
