City of Woman Feb 11, 2017
Favorite thing: There is a still very active urban legend about Banja Luka as city of woman.

Girls in Banja Luka are dominate on cities pedestrian zone and numerous alleys. There are is fame of the city around the world and there are, according to legend, seven times more than men. Still it is disputable, but I think that definitely is more girls on university.

Many people can say: "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" and I think is truth. Regardless you find a acceptable any urban myths even epithets of Banja Luka as "City of women" and "City of pretty girls", touristic organization of Banja Luka and some entrepreneurs make that idea about created new city brand very possible. Till then, will keep speculated.

Fondest memory: I found it that some legends and statue in Banja Luka make that brand existed like legend of Safikada or even small interesting statue on main road next to the Hotel "Bosnia".

Beautiful sculpture named "Mother and child" in front of company "Elektrokrajina", even in shade of big tree attract attention. On plaque beneath the statue there is a inscription on Cyrillic. I will write on Latin and translate and add a photo so you can see a original:

"Majka i dijete

Simbol ljubavi i mira

Posvećeno svim majkama.

"Mother and child

Symbol of love and peace

Dedicated to all mothers"

Author is academic Jovan Soldatović (1920-2005) and it is a gift to company "Elektrokrajina" from Foundation Petar Kočić Banja Luka and Belgrade 13th November 2008.
