The Olympic Arch Feb 11, 2017
Favorite thing: The Olympic Arch (olimpijski slavoluk) is project and permanent exhibit in Borik Sports Hall aim to give tribute to all Olympic winners from Banja Luka. It placed above entrance to the floor adorned with Olympic arch. It was placed on 14th September 2001. This year is celebrated 15th anniversary of this project.

The initiative to build the Olympic arch came from handball workers Branko Jankovic, the designer of exhibit space was Darko Hrstic and presentation of characters of Olympians is made by Nenad Vojcic from Belgrade.

Lets meet Banja Luka Olympic champions, 8 of them:

1. Tomislav Knez - Rome 1960 football,

2. Abas Arslanagić - Munich 1972 handball,

3. Milorad Karalić - Munich 1972 handball,

4. Nebojša Popović - Munich 1972 handball,

5. Dobrivoje Selec - Munich 1972 handball,

6. Zlatan Arnautović - Los Angeles in 1984 handball,

7. Zdravko Rađenović - Los Angeles 1984 handball and

Favorite thing: Banja Luka is well known in region as city with great potential for different kind of sports. It is important segment of development of city and whole country.

Banja Luka sport teams and athletes have great successes in sports competitions. Especially boxers, shooters, chess players, skydivers, footballers, cyclists, kayaks, basketball players, and other athletes.

Banja Luka is home of athlets who won 12 Olympic medals (8 gold), 15 medals from the World Championships, 6 medals from the European championships, four from the Univerziada, the Mediterranean Games 11 and 39 from the Balkan championships, one of the club champions of Europe (handball club Borac), winner of the Central European football Cup (FK Borac), and many champions of the previous Yugoslavia in both team and individual category.

Fondest memory: Last great important competition I watch was European Parachuting Championship and the World Cup, from 13-19 August 2013.
