Medellin is one of the most beautiful cities in South America. You can enjoy the warm, humid sunny climate that Medellin has to offer its visitors. There are many attractions in Medellin such as La Plaza Botero, Piedra del Penol which is an hour away from Medellin, and also get on the Metro Cable which is in one of the poor communities in Medellin which is Santo Domingo. Even though I heard this community was in such a bad shape at one time, it looked like the community is cleaning up and making Santo Domingo a better place to live and also attract visitors. Pueblito Paisa is on a small mountain/hill that can be apreciated because it is one of the first towns that started the whole City of Medellin. There are many souvenir shops and food stands that sell cheap snacks and great souvenirs for the family. I stayed in Envigado which I belived it's a "suburb" of Medellin (correct me if I'm wrong). Itagui is an overpopulated suburb that can at times look dangerous but it does have it's hot spots. If you use common sense and THINK, you will get thru by Itagui alright. Oh God!!! If are on the "expressway" you better have a barf bag if you get dizzy easily. There are so many curves on that road that you can seriously get sick. You have nothing to worry about when you are in Medellin, there is security in almost every corner! That is great protection considering the reputation Colombia has with Gangs, guerrilla, and drug dealers. You WILL NOT see none of that on the streets during the day, obviously. It's all about using common sense and thinking before you go out at night. Overall, it was a great experience and I WILL definitevely go back in the near future!!!
