Out of this world! Jul 20, 2009
The City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia is a futuristic complex of buildings designed for the purpose as a scientific and cultural center. It runs along a 2 km span with a central pool of water accommodating a number of buildings. The main structures are as described on the website: "The Hemisfèric (IMAX cinema and digital projections), the Umbracle (a landscaped vantage point and car park), the Príncipe Felipe Science Museum (an innovative centre of interactive science), the Oceanográfico (the largest aquarium in Europe with over 500 marine species) and the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía (which takes care of the operatic programme). The Ágora gives the complex a multifunctional space."

Constructed over a period from 1998-2009, this place is 'out of this world' and looks like something you might imagine from the future. Or maybe as close to what it might feel to be with the Jetsons, if you know this cartoon from back in the day. There is lots of entertainment to be had here, but worthwhile just to go see it, walk about and marvel at the creation. There is a nice garden nearby, which is part of the complex to enjoy as well. The City of Arts and Sciences is really something special to see and highly recommended to pay a visit. 'Nuff said!
